A land ruled by a monastic order! Cool idea. The Goddess Faithful's brethren, though the PPT rules much more directly. I really love this last paragraph of the Overview section, gets across the nation's spirit really nicely, with its dichotomies and values. "For beyond all modern psychological stresses is the old man in the cave." is a good line.
Also, I really like that you opted to make the natives a set of tribes instead of roving bands of schizos, that's so much more interesting. And then there's the whole cave adventure... Great setpiece! I'd love to see a movie about this, the trembling women and children advancing into the blackness, coming upon the divine vision, and then the golden city. Kino. If you know in what year the Heimin came out of the cave, we could add it to the timeline in the anchor.
