/vt/ - Virtual Youtubers

Fauna is the only EN chuuba I follow by virtue of her being genuinely funny, so I try to come up with funny things to write in chat in the hopes of playing along with a bit or giving her an idea for a bit. But why is 90% of the chat just smileyspam and other low-effort messages? For what purpose? It just drowns out all of the potentially funny comments. Not even just a selfish "I want MY funny comment to be aknowledged", but others as well. I get if you spam sht when something unexpected happens but it seems to just be a constant barrage of it. What goes through people's minds when they do this? Am I the only one being frustrated by this? Outside of vtubers I don't watch streamers so I guess that would explain things a bit.
