As obnoxious as it is, that's the purpose of his character arc, he's as spineless as his father was. At least he has branching character development where he either becomes a sociopath that compartmentalizes killing to a point where it freaks out Ashley, or he starts to grow a pair and call out his psychotic sister on her bullshit.
