I think the singular worst trait of chumbuds - honestly, their ONLY one to boot - is their immediate need to interpret any incoming criticism towards their oshi as being from strawmen, when it in fact is just a natural response to how unnaturally uppity they get whenever their oshi comes out of hibernation to give them their bimonthly stream.
This is a trait exhibited by everyone on /vt/ but chumbuckets are by far the heaviest adopters of it.
