i started jp when i was young and had to learn the first 5 years scuffed with no access to proper materials so i chucked myself to jp websites (reason being, it was an ambitious goal for my younger self without being prepared) i struggled and it went smooth sailing after i got older. i got to use proper learning materials (it's a mix of digital and textbook ones but i learned way more quicker through singing japanese songs (pronunciation assistance) and watching japanese lets players that read the game dialogues (reading and listening comprehension)

to give you a proper estimation i started when i was 11 and i'm 27 as of the moment, so 16 years (with no classes taken)
