>and yet you have never once explained how or why that is the case
You know - except for aaaaaall the times it's been explained
Listen anon, your denialism of the facts in front of your asymmetrical, mutational-load-warped face is repetitive and boring
We get it: you'd rather run and hide from the fact that you were wrong through this facile Redditor LARP than stop threadshitting, because you're a spineless subhuman with an IQ around room temperature in Celsius. That went without saying from the moment you posted your very first seethepost essay last thread
If you really can't put a coherent syllogism together, at least TRY to move onto some freshly retarded angle that might at least have some modicum of comedic value to squeeze from it
>but you seem to have finally been coaxed (or cornered) into giving a proper argument in >>74245757 (You).
Big shock - he's immediately forgotten all the other arguments he's refused (or tried, and failed) to address
Good on you, though, for at least recognizing what an argument looks like, at long last - next step is learning from the example, and improving yourself accordingly
>Too bad it's such an elementary level mistake. Please learn how graphs work. Your vocabulary of the day is: local maxima.
>A temporary, local upward trend or peak isn't indicative of the overall slope of a curve (or surface in 3D).
Okay, now THIS is extremely hilarious to me, firstly because this was "vocabulary of the day" when I was doing algebra and pre-Calc over a decade and a half ago, but more importantly because you have now managed to zero in on EXACTLY where you managed to veer off into objectively incorrect and retarded territory, only to somehow commit even further to your studied ignorance by deliberately avoiding the point you yourself have laid out before your very eyes:
The local extrema of the graph is EXACTLY the property that you SHOULD be focusing on.
NOT the overall average slope of the WHOLE curved line or geodesic.
Doing otherwise is, in fact, beyond being an elementary mistake, because it actively goes a truth which isn't even unintuitive, but is actually in line with common sense. Why? Because - as I explained in my car analogy - doing as you have done here would lead you to asinine conclusions, such as that a car is accelerating while it is literally in the process of deceleration, or confusing Gura simply *being* worse with *getting* worse, compared to how she was... at her literal debut
Hm, sounds familiar
To make it as straightforward and monosyllabic as possible - when determining whether or not Gura is in the act of "improving", you need only use one of the very first tools that you pick up in college level calculus (which I have taken and done fairly well in, and you haven't). This is what we call a "derivative", and is essentially the tangent line that is parallel to the curve on that particular point of the curve. This gives you the instantaneous rate of change of the curve at said point (and can be compared to a localized average as well), in our case, the most recent period of streams
Once you've found the derivative for this period, all you have to do is see whether the slope is positive, or negative
That's it
Feel free to look up a video on youtube if even that basic explanation is too advanced for you. Or, find yet another novel way to fail to grasp this basic and foundational concept, as seems to be your calling in life
>By your logic, one could claim that Gura is improving any time she streams even if she were to increase the weeks between streams by one every time.
Wrong. The only way that could be the case would be, ironically, if the speaker was incapable of recognizing the local or global minima of the graph and then divide periods of analysis based on those thresholds (basically, isolating the local "hills" in the graph by dividing them by their valleys), as any sane person of even marginal intelligence would. And even a few people without, considering this is something that even (You) have done when it was convenient
>After all, streaming a few hours in such a scenario is an improvement over the day before where there was none.
And streaming every day for weeks straight would be an improvement over months with no streams. And yet, by the standards of your shifted goalposts and crude, pre-simian grasp of mathematical concepts, this would not qualify as an improvement either, because... it would be lower than her stream frequency shortly after debut.
>In short, you're an ignoramous that doesn't understand math, words, or how to compose an argument.
And yet, here we are - with me correcting you on several points of math, language, rhetoric AND logic all at once
Because you're an amoeba who knows nothing, except how to seethe
>Now go ahead and reply to this post seven more times like the others, lol.
If when it makes you humiliate yourself more, sure
And don't forget the Reddit spacing, lol
