I used to be a huge and vocal opponent of escapism, after everything that happened the last few years, not so much.
Escapism and fun hobbies are in my opinion pretty blurry. A friend of mine gets really sad and self concious if someone breaks the spell he put unto himself and reminds him of the real world out there.
Feel free to make a universe, world, whatever in your own image, where there is no room for anything except moe, but such a form of peace is, in the end, really fragile.
