I enjoyed watching Sonny's Japanese Duolingo stream today! I'm a firm believer that Duolingo is an absolutely terrible way to learn a language, so it's these meme streams that don't take it too seriously that actually catch my attention - although in Sonny's case, he took it seriously enough that it became a shitpost. The way he kept insisting that this was absolutely a legit speedrun and talking about how he needed to make 'serious good plays' to catch up or trying to optimize his mouse and keyboard usage really tied the whole stream together.
I was really hoping for a bit more of a zatsudan from this stream since I'm a translation autist and I can listen to someone talking about languages all day, but coherent conversation ended up being pretty much impossible because he was too focused on malding at the Duolingo owl's infuriating inflexibility in accepting answers that are just slightly off from what it's programmed to accept. It still ended up being a pretty fun stream, but it was definitely carried by the strength of the gimmick and less what he actually did with it.
