Manual strikes are a bitch but it is more likely than not than this happened

It is not hard to get permission to cover a song: all you need is a "mechanical license" and the rate is about 9 cents per physical copy you plan to sell OR 7 cents per 1000 listens if you plan to put on a stream platform
> or ZERO if you plan to put it on Spotify because they pay so you don't have to

The problem with Youtube (and specially with Haachama's cover) is that if you make a MV for it ALL BETS ARE OFF.
Mechanical license are compulsory (the owner of the copyright has no choice but to take teh set rate) but it only covers the singing part.
You need a separate synchronization license to make a video with the song and the copyright owner can say "pay me a million dollars or get lost" and you have no recourse.
