In their defense, I used to be the same. The story of Sora's christmas miracle used to have me going "oh no no no 14 viewers" but now I know that's the norm for a vast, vast, vast majority of vtubers.

What I like to do is pull up the good old sort by viewcount routine. Goes like this:
You go on twitch (youtube for the second part) and sort low to high. You time yourself and share how long it took you to find a channel with 10+ viewers.

Spoiler: if the site doesn't glitch out on you it takes a good several minutes and most anons give up before they find anyone
Then you do the reverse. High to low and time yourself how long it takes to find anyone below 100. This time you can use youtube too.

This usually doesn't even take a minute.
Some anons get downright depressed.
