Iirc Ike have not yet finished it. He doesn't talk about it a lot for this reason, I think. Not sure how his progress is, don't remember him mentioning where he was the last time he mentioned it...
I get what you mean by picking up smaller details, yes I'm guilty of spoiling myself for this reason too, there's a lot of enjoyment to be found in following creators hints while armed with knowledge of the twists! Honestly it wouldn't hurt to play it yourself first. He's going a lot faster than me through the game, because I'm one of those "click every pixel/npc twice" people and he misses some stuff that you might discover on your own playthrough! Also you will be more ready for the ending that way, but it's up to you how you want to experience it.
