They built their fandom first before taking their bf in. Even then said bf either very entertaining or take a back seat for her.
A newly debuted Vtuber need to focus on gathering viewers first and retaining them for several years to create brand loyalty or Stockholm Syndrome so they can afford to lose some viewers when they bring in their bf.

What if I make a small vtuber agency, and make a character based on my choc waifu and hire someone to fulfill that role.
