Shu's always struck me as someone who would sacrifice a lot for his partner if needed, so I think he would quietly endure it; Elira's dad could easily manipulate him into complying, telling Shu that she would be next if he decides to leave or call the police. I could also see Shu internalizing some kind of Madonna-whore complex during the abuse, where he grows addicted to the twistedness of the pleasure he feels with Elira's dad to the point where he sees his pain as "atonement" for his sins. Just thinking about it gives me some great ideas! I don't know when I'll write it out, but I hope it will be soon.
