They had the right idea in trying to steer the game back into the Battle Royale genre, where surviving until the end is the goal. The execution was horrific because the penalty you get for dying early is completely offset by winning a match. The maximum RP loss during this season is -35RP, while getting a champion could potentially net you up to 400RP. Who wouldn't want to play with such odds?
Included in the site itself is this graph for current season, pretty much a reminisce of S12. The game is fucked.
