No idea really. I've noticed some of my comments don't show up in the top chat replay window when I go back to check the VOD even though the streamers clearly read my comment but MIGHT appear on the other, livechat, one. Then there's other times when it's in neither.

if its some prolonged emoji spam like during concerts, karaokes then yeah it won't work, but if it's some reaction to what they say like asking for headpats you can time it. Those short spurts of emoji spam don't last that long either so if you time it properly you're message will appear at the tail-end of it and stay on screen for them a bit. You can slowly work out the timing by comparing how long it took for your sent message to appear on the screen and by making sure your buffer health is as low as possible to react at a proper time to it.
