What the fuck this could be my favorite Mori song of all time. It's unironically the Linken Park of Pretty Reckless of Evanescence of Reoh of all time.
While "rock song" I think Make Em' Afraid, despite its shallow themes, is better than Wanted Wasted, WW was a step in the right direction and I didn't expect Mori to pull off so early after she started leaning into it, AND not dropping her "style" of rapping. Holy fuck. How?

Sinderella is generally pop-ish and Shinigami note is a hodge podge of different songs, but you have select ones like Wanted/Wasted and Make Em' Afraid that are literally rock-adjacent songs and therefore DEMANDS the respect Rock deserves.

I'm really glad that Mori is going to lean on j-rock, but erm, hololive still lacks people actually playing the instruments because having an actual band to do it instead of just having producers do it for you is a completely different experience. There's that dude in the Villian Vibes contest, he should be drafted.

The vibe is malleable. The meat of the lyrics can be obfuscated while keeping up with the track's pace if you do it with confidence and manage to keep a straight face all the time. Hell, UMG has a point with C-man. It's not just the bravado of the guy, but also the ability to weave any story into the music.

Mori is more than capable of doing it. My Reality is a short story done as a song and has a delivery that assumes that C-man is completely serious about his plight.

Another one, but with Christopher Lee (Good night sweet prince). What all these have in common (My Reality included) is these are evolving songs that change as the plot within it runs its course.

Make 'em Afraid is a step in the right direction, but she needs it to be less of a Character Song (that shit is reserved for debuts) and more of as STORY song involving the character. And maybe the path forward for Mori (regardless of genre) is storytelling within the song. I firmly believe Mori has what it takes to pick up rock or even metal. She has ran TTRPG campaigns, she can definitely pull it off. Why do you think Power Metal has a massive overlap with grognards? Storytelling, that's what.

Feels weird for Mori to start leaning into metal/rock because that was my genre of choice before Mori introduced me to jrap. I never expected Mori to actually do it, but here we are and I am I am glad I stuck around for two years.
