Every now and then I see an old gura VOD pop up on youtube's feed, feel my hopes rise for a second, and then get disappointed.

Honestly, I agreed with this sentiment during the Japan trip, thinking that her disappearances were just one-offs and the people complaining were just faithless weakbuds. She returned from her trip, made a big song and dance about "coming back strong", threw out a bunch of stream ideas, and generally did everything she could to present that she's going back to being a vtuber. She's re-energized from her trip, she's glad to be back home, things are going to work out now.
And then, suddenly as ever, she's gone once again with no explanation, after shadowbanning the word "stream" in chat when the vast majority of people are just going to be using it to thank her for streaming at the end. It's baffling behavior and I think you'd honestly have to be pretty delusional to not question why she's actively torpedoing herself this hard, something has clearly been wrong for a while and refusing to acknowledge it gets nobody anywhere.
