Because the concept of the gen is loosely based on this anime, and it seeps into some of the Designs, definitely La+ and Koyori down to the character outline. Iroha is the odd Samurai in the group, just like the chunky dude in the background. Rui is missing, arguably her character is covered by "Roboko" which is pretty obvious why they couldn't just go with that theme.
Do call me a schizo for this.
