It's actually fucking crazy
I'd always get so excited for E3 season, I'd always get hyped the fuck up for Nintendo directs, etc. I would also very compulsively check for game news constantly as well to see if anything new was happening
But last year there was an extreme lack of game announcements and I got really invested in Hololive shortly before the permissions arc so all my excitement went toward what game permissions the girls would get, talent debuts, 3D debuts, etc.
Even my favorite game of all time got a remake released just last week and I didn't go as wild for it during announcement and all my hype was only last minute. It just doesn't compare to when I see a Twitter post about a new Holo gen in any branch or when there's 3D debuts or a crazy event gets planned
