An "oshi" in the field of v-tubers on this forsaken board is quite the often misunderstood concept. No, it's not like Waifu in animu where "she's fictional bro". It's one step further to being real, while still being a role played by a VA. But there's genuine moments in all the improv, as well as the VAs in the background pouring their hearts out sometimes.
I'd compare it to the daughter you never had and never thought you wanted so badly to succeed. You watch her for a long time, try to be there as much as you can, have some kind of bond. Not many can say they've been the bridge to Mikochi from the english chat which was invading after she said the nigger word. Japanese people still didn't know GTA too much. We explained, we watched her struggle and learn. We still follow her. Through illness and recovery, through the stuggle to find friendship in Hololive, through awkward incidents involving a faggot and a fridge. And also through new talents. You are allowed to like them, your oshi usually does as well. But don't claim they are your true oshi.
This is how /vt/ understands the word, because frankly it means something else you idiots, there's 箱推し for a reason, but oshichangers are still just absolute dregs unable to commit.
