Modern Dr. Who has been absolutely fucking tanking the longer it goes on.
It's so bad that the fanbase outright denies the legitimacy of the 13th Doctor onward, especially because it goes crazy fucking retarded in a series that has time-travel shenanigans and aliens with literal "I made it up"-tier storytelling.
For reference, the female doctor reveals that the Doctor isn't actually a Time Lord but was just an alien that crashed onto Gallifrey and had their memory wiped. The other "Time Lords" then used the Doctor's DNA to build up their species officially creating 'Time Lords'.
Later on the Doctor then literally "bigenerates" creating two Doctors (which is where Tennant's FOURTH REAPPEARANCE pops up as the offspring.
None of it really makes sense and these two things literally invalidate everything in Classic Dr. Who and most of the previous Modern who. It's why the most recent seasons are absolutely loathed.
