You have to play a hell of a long game, and that's not even just from the EN side of dubbing.

I remember playing Muv Luv (the first one) and I recognized Asami Imai who'd later be more popular in roles such as Chihaya from IM@S, Kurisu from S;G, and Vira from GBF. She just did background mob voices in that. Heck, the guy who voiced Alm in FE Echoes went from a protag role to the goddamn Gatekeeper in 3 Houses, so there is always going to be that level of variation in the scope of work.

I think she realizes that she's not going to be voicing main characters right out of the gate, but inversely she's also standing at what some may consider the apex of her current field, so it's up to her finding the balance that works for her.
