Twitch is toxic and many people are leaving it. I've said for a while that twitter and kick will take over, it's bearing fruit now. The other insight I can offer is that people are just working again, streaming was huge in the 2020 lockdowns. Society changed.

Other than that, vtubing has lost its novelty big time, as nothing had progressed. You're still the same crassly-animated anime avatar that faces forward with limited motion as we were in 2017. Unless a new breakthrough happens, you'll just see people go back to flesh streaming. I predict VRchat will take over vtubing, as you can have the full range of motion and natural interactions. Once this breaks out for real (better than it is now) then you'll see a huge influx of viewers.
