Discords are fine and harmless, as long as they are only for fans. It only becomes risky and dangerous when these servers are used as vehicles to groom vtubers.

Official or unofficial, it all goes to shit the minute a vtuber joins, because there is no way of knowing what is happening behind the scenes in secret channels or hidden side servers.

WACTOR was in many ways the worse case scenario because you had a small group of fans create a personal server which became the "official" server after the CEO and the vtubers joined. This small group of fans used the server exactly how you would expect any groomer would, to give themselves power and access to the girls, including their YouTube channels.

And they would pressure the girls into using the server for official activities, like meme reviews.

After the WACTOR was suddenly shut down, seperate fanservers appeared, most of them created by the old groomers with the intention of convincing the girls to join so they could groom them again. Nisha tried to beat them to the punch by opening an official server herself, but she couldn't handle it and shut it down soon after. She has no plans to remake it, no matter how hard the groomers beg her for it.

Bascially, if you want to open a fancord, fine. But don't create it to invite the vtuber there.

Girls, if you're thinking of making an official discord for fans, you have to be the one in control. Do not leave it to the fans to make it or run it, they will just use it to try to groom you. Do not trust anyone.
