I began to control my drinking by never buying full bottles of wine. Instead I get a nicer version of the the canned wines that are 2 glasses each, and go for the lower ABV ones.
I just learned that my local store has a "If you buy 6+ bottles wins is 10% off", but one of the nicer cans of wine count as a "bottle of wine". So I buy a six pack, save a lot of money, and have one can per day except for Sunday. They're basically 2 drinks each, so I'm drinking about half per day of what I was six months ago.
By October I want to cut down to a can (2 drinks) every-other day, and eventually go to only drinking on Friday and Saturday.
