It was nice to confirm there are super interesting and cool people out there who I share interests with, but I'll never EVER find one, for various reasons. Mostly that I'm ESL in a super extrovert country where people dont know english, and spent my childhood browsing 4chan and the internet in the 00's, so the good memories and things I hold dear, absolutely no girl in a 400km radius will ever relate to. Hell, there's no males either. I have other hobbies that are equally incredibly niche and full of unironic crazies (of the bad kind) so i'ts not an option either. Had a gf for 5 years back in uni, but we went different paths after we finished it. Plus work takes most of my time. And I refuse to become a disgusting discord groomer, I'd rather die.

Mid thirties now, I've accepted being an internet ghost, with the satisfaction of knowing that somehow, somewhere, there are cool people out there, even if I'll never get to meet them IRL. At least I can talk to some indie oldfags. I genuinely, truly hope they will find their own happiness someday. Meanwhile, I'll be /here/ to close the door and turn the lights off after 4chin eventually closes. Someone has to carry that weight.
