Someone should do Omori director's cut at this point.
It might be a conspiracy, but I feel like a lot of dull gameplay playtime was added to justify really long development time. People (me included) were waiting for this game since 2014 and some people were really mad at how long it took. So I'm going with my tinfoil hat theory on this one.
>Nothing to be ashamed of, we are already both here.
Oh, know you'd understand. And the fact that we have such fantasies doesn't mean we hate our oshis. Human psychology is a weird thing, huh.
>I can agree that the gameplay is tedious.
For some reason I've had trouble understanding controls. My umbrella shield just wasn't working at all, no matter how much i was pressing F and it was frustrating. But I might give it another chance actually because everything else is really nice!
>I am not at all familiar with Yoko Taro's work. I will get in there, someday, probably.
It's fine! His works are really as insane as it can get. He's known for connecting story and gameplay in really interesting manner, so his games never feel like story, premise and actual game are in different dimensions - and that's already a huge accomplishment on its own. But he also likes to do some experimental meta stuff. For instance, in one game you had to sacrifice your save files to get a good ending, watching how all of your collectibles disappear one-by-one before your eyes just to see fictional characters happy (not really, there are no happy endings in his games). It's really dark and unique, I'm not surprised Ike loved those games. So definitely, you can check those games out when you're able! The most accessible one is Nier:Automata so far, the rest are really suffering from low budget (the games are really extremely niche) and unpolished gameplay.
