This hits the nail on the head. The way they treated Selen and spoke about her immediately poisoned the well, because there was no NEED for them to act that way. They could have just said something to the effect of
>yeah we’re ending our contract with Selen and she’s graduating due to not willing to want to work with us. It’s a bummer but she was an important part of the EN community and we hope you respect the decision
Instead what we got was outright slander and character assassination of the highest order. I didn’t even watch Selen that much and knew that at least half of the shit they said in their initial termination notice was just outright incorrect, out of character and straight up malicious on behalf of management. Immediately left a bad taste in my mouth, and it only got harder and harder to retain any kind of neutrality on the subject when NijiEN management just kept floundering and tripping over themselves week after week.

The bullying thing is still something that’s stopping me from going back and made me give up on watching my former oshi. Until someone has been confirmed and outed, I can’t feel morally okay with potentially supporting someone who almost drove someone to end their life, and I wouldn’t be surprised if others feel that way too. In any other instance I’d have just held faith, but how can you have faith in something that’s been proven to be so immorally fucked and twisted as more and more lies and truths are revealed day after day?
