The most commonly accepted theory is that they thought Doki would launch a huge offensive against them with a google dox, lawsuit etc.
So they became obsessed with the idea of striking first and taking the wind out of her sails by making her look like a liar before she even said anything. Putting your side out first is incredibly valuable in PR and I hopefully don't have to explain why.
However, "Attack, smear, character assassinate" has ALWAYS been Niji's go-to strategy for terminations (see Zaion, Gundou and according to rrats it was even gonna happen to Yugo), and this was merely amplified by their fear of what Doki would say.

Then you have to consider how much they huff their own farts, their fanbase has been so utterly brainwashed for so long they really thought everyone would just go along and believe them when they said "suicide victim bad, pls hate her".
And yes it happened out of their own free will, I have no idea how anyone can watch that shit and pretend they had a gun held to their heads. They spoke with utter conviction and even several of the other Nijiscum that promoted the stream clearly tried to convince everyone that they were in the right. Hell Ren even explicitly shot down the "skinwalking" cope.

Fun fact: Their CCV didn't completely collapse until after the black stream (Feb 2024). Even with the suicide fiasco and AnyColor's absolutely retarded smearing notice, Nijifags were still trying to excuse the whole fiasco by pretending so hard that the organs were innocent. The mainstream narrative was even that AnyColor LITERALLY INVENTED the "harassed by other livers" line to deflect from management.
The black stream made it clear beyond reasonable doubt that no, the organs aren't innocent, and yes they are as much of a sociopathic snakes as antis have always assumed.
So yeah they could have probably survived if they hadn't done this. They'd still be considered a black corp by most people but there would be enough Nijidrones who would cling to that "support the organs while criticizing the company (aka support the company)" horseshit. But they were too sociopathic to realize how sociopathic they look to normal human beings, and the rest is history.
