I could feel it from Pekora as the tournament was ongoing, she was quite quiet and reserved with her commentating because she could see what was happening and was getting chewed up inside over it. The reason she asked Suisei to have an unscheduled exhibition match at the end there was she could already sense the blowback and wanted Suisei to stomp Marine so the tournament would overall still look fair. Instead not only did Suisei not give everyone a 'reality check', she got one-sidedly destroyed, to Pekora's horror, making the situation even worse. For her part Suisei was also fully cognizant of the stakes when Pekora asked her to face Marine and you could hear she was hesitant to go through with it but couldn't back out, and vacillated on whether she should blame her controller or not knowing Marine and Pekora would get raked over the coals if she outright lost. This all caused her to choke and play much worse than usual, having the exact opposite effect.
