I knew throat issues would catch up to Pekora sooner or later but i still feel bummed knowing she will most likely go on a long break

Special occasions deserve special treatment. Don't take this as me making a comeback, this was simply too serious for me to just let it slip by.
Something me and many others have feared for a while, but well, it finally happened.

This is also not an attempt at discrediting the previous summary. I simply wanted to write one myself.

She begins by apologizing for all the breaks she has had an says that to put it simply she was diagnosed with having "Vocal cord nodules" after having gone to the hospital today. At first they tried looking via her mouth but her gag reflex would activate making them unable to properly observe her throat so they went through the nose instead which she also dislikes. The hospital itself is a rather famous one that has a lot of patients from various fields so they understand well the damages that occur from work. In any case Pekora explains that her work requires her to speak and that if she took a break in the past then it would heal, whereas now it will immediately go hoarse again. The doctor sympathizes and emphasizes the importance of rest, sleep, and hydration. For the time being she will get medicine, be told to rest, and come back to the hospital two weeks later.

Aside from that there was also this old lady that was tasked with checking the state of her throat, like how hoarse it was and giving her instructions. And this old lady was very peculiar making Pekora think that; "So this is what people mean when they say someone is peculiar". She spoke very casually with her remarking on a lot of stuff as she worked, like calling her throat stiff when touching and massaging her throat in various places listening to Pekora's reaction. The lady's remarks and massage went on for about 10 minutes until she said that she said that Pekora should sleep and avoid speaking as much as possible and ending on a positive note by saying that her throat is definitely going to get better and that they'll do it together.

The reason Pekora thought that this occasion in particular was bad was because she got a long message from Marine on Discord during one of her break days. A message that said that it felt like she was watching herself prior to having ended up in her own situation* and that seeing it is making her sad, so she stresses that this not a joke and that she has to rest when she needs to rest, and that she should go to the hospital to get checked. The message made Pekora rethink her mistaken idea that she can just power through and that somehow or another she'll be fine. Even after taking this three day break her voice wouldn't perfectly heal, she'd have phlegm come out, her voice would go hoarse immediately after speaking which made her think that she might actually completely break her throat.
Her plan for the reminder of May is that she still wants to do Elden ring, Nyanko Daisensou, and there is also a sponsorship stream. So she'll still be streaming here and there during May and once these halfway started games are finished she figures she is going to do a long break until her voice heals and she doesn't know how long it will take, perhaps a month, but if it heals faster then she wants to get back as soon as she can. But basically because of her own peculiarity of wanting to finish her started games, her having a sponsorship stream on the 17th, she wont start her long break until she has managed to sort her own stuff out as she wants. It is later brought up that she definitely do not want to leave something like Elden on hold for a month because she won't be able to get back into it after that and she'd hate it, so she is adamant about this.

Once she properly goes on a long break she'll say so on Twitter but for the time being this is the plan.
She also mentions that she won't be tweeting every time she decides to take a break during May since she feels bad doing it, so she'll tweet whenever she does stream and if she doesn't tweet out a stream notification then take that as her taking a break. From time to time she'll tweet a GoroMimi photo as a distraction instead.

It is what it is. Regular popular entertainers usually have sound lives because their field forces them to be out and socializing or otherwise display your real self. Vtubers or faceless streamers in general don't, so you can get plenty of socially incapable girls into the spotlight as they never have to risk their own self.
With how shut in Pekora is and how her chat is pretty much 99% of the socializing she gets on your average day I don't even know where the hell she'd even get a chance to be courted.

What really makes it sad even though I'm a hopeless gachikoi myself is that she also seems to be one of the most girlish girls out of Hololive in the way she views love, children, marriage, and whatnot. She speaks very traditionally about the roles of a wife and husband, and read a lot of shoujo in her younger years.
So I wouldn't be surprised if she has lofty and romantic dreams about marriage and starting a family but just from the amount she streams alone one can tell that she is hardly making advances in that area, if she even hopes for it these days.

Jesas... I knew she said she wanted to do something like it again but she was going to wait a while, I hope it isn't too soon because I'm not close to being done with the 9 streams she already did. It was seriously a hell of a lot more work than I expected.
My vacation from work is pretty soon and since I don't have anything planned I'll be able to put more work into the translation then.

I'm slightly bummed out by how poorly I'm keeping up with the story, considering I didn't have the same amount of issues with the other games, I guess this is either just harder or I'm in a slump.
But the streams are still hilarious with everything surrounding it and the things I do catch, but aside from most visual imagery I can't say I feel sure about the story.
