I mean it is kinda weird how every donothon is almost wholly funded by 1-2 dudes. Like how does almost seemingly EVERY small vtuber have a giga-whale? However I've seen donothons where a vtuber with similar viewer numbers (or even more) net basically nothing. I think Kyoharu did a subathon like several months back for her newest model debut and got 500 subs. Literally 500 subs the entire thing. I really don't get it.

Just seems to be a matter of whether or not you have attracted at least one whale, which a very strangely high amount of small vtubers have somehow managed to do. Sometimes I wonder if it's all just one billionare saudi oil prince who spends all day watching vtubers and uses multiple accounts to oil up countless different vtubers. Or if there's really just an epidemic of incel men who somehow have more money then they know what to do with and just spend it on vtubers.
