They're not big at all where it matters, any big streamer is still bigger than hololive and vtubers are still in the "hot new thing" phase. Pokimane still has three times the google searches Gura does and Gura has three to ten times the numbers of a majority of corporate vtubers let alone indies.
If bilibili or tencent want to capitalize on vtubers they'll make their own and they can shill them on any of their billion games and channels.

You're not putting this into perspective. People used to say Kizuna Ai was the AOL of vtubers but only time can tell is Hololive is the facebook or the myspace. Its three graduations away from falling behind nijisanji and nijisanji is two graduations away from falling into obscurity.
Hololive is not a threat at all, its barely an investment.
