Do you think you'll end up doing a lot of art away from your desk or outside? That would make an iPad worth. I'm on my 2nd iPad now and 2nd screen tablet, and I'd say they were probably equivalent prices, if not the iPad being slightly more expensive when including the pen. Desk space and size constraints are also worth considering, same with software choice. Procreate is an additional $10(?), CSP's iPad version would be $5 a month on top of everything.

Huion is my go-to "cheapo" tablet but I'm not sure if you mean an off-screen regular tablet. Wacom is basically not worth anything anymore. This one was like, $600ish

Probably a more in-depth pros and cons than I'm listing but it's different from person to person /shrug
