normal accounts buy shares at up to 10 at a time with increasing taxes for each!
mutual funds are similar but they can buy up to 100 at a time, meaning mutual funds are capable of much bigger trades than personal trading!
they can also be invested in! people can buy up to 1000 shares of a fund a day!
and they encourage community interaction! cheese holders, seiso, aki love, koyolabo, chama and others sometimes advertise, or do other things in the thread! (for instance the seiso market reports! or the very uncommon koyote report or very common last call for todays purchases!)

every account can have a mutual fund but only one at a time but you can remake it, or dissolve it and start another one! so don't stress about it too much! just have fun!
