Here's the secret:
You know those shitty discord channels you always go like >DISCORD whenever you see them?
Join those, they usually contain people with your same interests. Not all discords will be good, some of them will be shit filled with spergs but sometimes you can find some good ones and befriend some people there.

My entire friend circle right now is literally made of people I met on /a/ or /vg/ with a few close friends that have unironically helped me get my life together and a bunch of people I play stuff together with. If you want to befriend people then you have to go where people are and try to befriend some.
I'm nowhere near a normalfag too because my interests are vtubers, gachashit and masturbating to little girls with no real skills that would be of use to anyone but if I managed to actually make friends then you can make friends too.

You could also try getting into gacha or multiplayer games like FFXIV. Gacha games are called soshage in JP, short for "Social games" because you'll meet a lot of people playing them through guilds and those guilds have discords that you can join and talk to your guild/clanmates. Same shit with FFXIV.
Just literally don't be a sperg and actually try to make friends then you'll find yourself in a friend circle or two.
