In this case Mel leaked things she shouldn't have. As people usually do with trusted friends, but that snitch was ill-intentioned and probably told Cover in the worst possible light possible to make it as big of as deal as possible. Yes, it's sad, but even Mel admitted she was in the wrong when Cover did what they did.
