This is true.
Amelia Watson had to request to her manager to lower the superchat reading requirement, the original contract requires them to read them. she talked a lot of times about how having to read them stresses her out and takes too much time. in the stream where she announced she will read less superchats she was getting electrocuted because she was signalling to the audience she is being punished behind the scenes for it.
