Sadly there is no other way. I cut out soda from my diet a long time ago. I use to drink probably around 5/6 cans a day, but when I got out of high school something clicked in me and I began weening myself off of soda. I halved my consumption and I just had to weather the head aches, tiredness, and sleeplessness. Then when my withdrawal symptoms went away from reduced intake (since I'm not going cold turkey I can somewhat satiate the cravings a bit better) then I'd halve how much I'd drink once again. So I reduced myself to 2~3 cans a day for probably a few weeks, then around 1~1.5 cans a day, then I reduced drinking soda every other day, then once a week, and now I have zero cravings. On the other hand Coke tastes very bitter to me now and I only get it if I need something to wake me up which probably happens once a month or less.
Going cold turkey is a very hard thing to do, even doubly so when you eventually break your streak and you just think "fuck it I already broke it I'm going to indulge myself even more now".
