Eh, like 50% of beauty is just not being obese. Japan's obesity rate is like 2% or some shit so most of the girls are reasonably attractive with good clothes and makeup. There's another factor at play though that you probably noticed in the EN vtuber scene especially. Being a streamer/entertainer requires a level of charisma that is only present in people who are conventionally attractive or can at least pass themselves off as attractive to receive compliments and encouragement from others throughout their life. Someone who is legit autistic and hides from other people's gaze when in public can't really have fun on stream to thousands of viewers. Occasionally you see those people shill themselves in /wvt/ or /asp/ and they're awkward as fuck.

Fundamentally, Hololive is not an idol company or even focused on GFE. They're a brand for DD's who want to fulfill the harem fantasy with a large cast of girls that -all- belong to them and live in this closed garden where no one else can touch them.

Nijis have plenty of gachikois but no one feels threatened over who their oshi interacts with. A true gachikoi supports their oshi in whatever way makes them happy and also trusts their oshi to not sleep around with every male in sight because they respect her individuality.

Haremfags don't have this level of faith in the object of their affection, because they know they themselves have no loyalty, how can they expect it of anyone else? This leads them down a path of paranoia and possessiveness where they want to control and own every female they interact with and become irrationally angry and jealous any time they see a man, even if he's just in the background.

Cover recognizes this as their strength as a company, people who sub to one Holo are likely to sub to all of them and support the entire company, so they pander to those haremfags to inflate their sub and view count and ensure even the lowest tier Holos make a decent living from the leftovers of people like Pekora when she's not streaming.
