Proposed addition to /who/'s general lore: On entertainment and street culture:
In the rural towns and villages in the hilly east, children and youths participate in games where they chase down large owl-like land birds with bats. This practice seems to stem from a folk tale regarding a fanatical follower of the nameless one, barging into a local temple with a bat and claiming the nameless one is among the female worshippers. Historians cannot ascertain whether the story really happened but this game remained one of the most popular children's game in the republic. In cities and villages in the east where there's no such bird, children playing as the 'bird" are dressed in cloaks instead.

Proposed addition to /who/'s Army: Militias: With a population of roughly 12 million, the republic has a large reserve population of around 8 times that of the active army. This puts the ratio of potential military personnel to civilians at approximately 30:100(or 218 per 1000 capita). In order to maintain the reservists' combat readiness, there are various militias affiliated with the army available for any interested citizens. The militias practice training exercises semi-regularly and participate in large scale exercises with their local Legion yearly. Most importantly, aside from being a pool of potential soldiers to replenish casualties, militias play a crucial role in defending the republic. In case of an invasion, militias not in the standing army would destroy major roads and bridges in order to impede the enemy advance. Militias are also expected to put up resistance to harass any occupying force using their familiarity with the local terrain.
Aside from military functions, the militias are an integral part of life in the Republic. The youth partake in training and activities organised by their local outfit, and the militia aid the construction and maintenance of public infrastructure. In more rural areas, the militia even acts as the de facto police.
