I could very very very easily write a 10,000 word essay on this but I’ll do my best to keep it simple.
I already have about 300 hours put into it prior to these 60 hours I’ve put in so far for this new save working towards the DLC.
The combat gameplay is amazing, and I’ve still only have played a knight build for these 360 hours. I plan on doing more builds, but I just love the plain vanilla knight combat.
The quests are cryptic and easily missed, but they’ve always been like this for dark souls games so I don’t mind.
The story is requires diligence for you to put the pieces together by reading item descriptions, but again, it’s always been like this so I don’t mind.
What I dislike, and always have since its launch, is the naming schemes of the characters. Too many names sound too similar. Morgot and Margit. Renela and Renna or whatever. Marika sounds like America. Idk. It just makes the story harder to piece together. I also feel indifferent to the crafting. Never really used the mechanic at all this whole time.
All in all, I’d put Dark Souls 1, Sekiro, and ER as all contenders for my favorite game of all time.
