It depends on scale. On the grand scheme of things the setting is a wacky mess, but in more controlled and zoomed some """low""" fantasy aspects of it can be more prominent and thus appreciated, such as Vermintide with facing almost exclusively silly rrats so there's a central theme, and 3/5 of the party members are humans so it can still feel grounded despite having elves and dwarves.
Contrast this to MODERN DnD campaigns with every player being some stupid snowflake race so atrociously "unique" elves start looking fucking generic next to them. I apologize to Vesper and his campaign, but the inclusion of Warforged and Turtles as PARTY MEMBERS made me avoid it.

Although the WHF part was a throwaway statement, while valid, wasn't exactly my first go-to example for a darker fantasy. There are other options. Pic is a page off Mork Borg.

Mori should read Hellboy. If anything, it'd be a surprise if Mori hasn't read Hellboy given her art style and the industry she was orbiting prior to Hololive (and music).
