kinda I guess, I guess it's kinda just a bit of convergent evolution as the result of attempting to directly translate the anime art style on a face to a 3d real world representation.
Which is interesting because there exist figures and minis which DON'T have that uncanny-ness about them. So it's not for lack of knowledge or ability, I think.
