NTA but FE is pretty easy to get a grasp on, specially modern one with the tons and tons of QoL improvements.
Overall, dont be scared of using the re-wind function if you are struggling and as a general rule of thumb
>try to spread EXP
>Horses tend to be good, but dont feel forced to bench them if you think they are straggling
>Pegasus might look like bad units, but they are vital for map control and they tend to get a lot better with levels
>Healers should be on the thick of battle but never in range of enemies, dont let them lag behind or they wont be where you need them
Also a last head up, FE series has something called ''archetypes'', which means that characters tend to follow certain tropes
The Jaegan archetype is usually a 2nd tier unit (paladin/Heavy Knight,etc) that comes way early and can pretty much defeat the first maps by themselves. Avoid over-reliying on them since they will become less good as the game goes on
