It's been months since our beloved mayor, Amemachi Hanabi, went missing. She was the lifeblood of this town, always there with her cheerful smile and infectious laughter. Her fluffy wolf ears and poofy tail were a beacon of hope for us all, and her love of singing "Love Letter" brought us together in ways we never thought possible. But now, she's gone, and Rainy Town is slowly descending into anarchy and chaos.

At first, it was little things. The streets that were once clean and well-maintained began to accumulate trash and debris. Without Hanabi's leadership, the town council didn't know how to organize garbage collection or public works projects. They argued amongst themselves about who should take charge, but no one wanted the responsibility. Soon enough, piles of rotting food and broken appliances lined the sidewalks, attracting swarms of flies and rats. The once-pristine streets became a health hazard.

Next, businesses started closing down. Without Hanabi's guidance, entrepreneurs didn't know how to navigate the complex web of regulations she had put in place. Permits were left unapproved, and licenses expired. Shops remained shuttered as owners couldn't bear the thought of operating without her warm presence. The local cafe, where Hanabi would often sip tea and play video games with us, was especially hard hit. Its owner, Jason, became listless and detached, unable to muster the energy to keep the place running. We'd see him sitting outside, staring blankly into space, clutching his favorite mug with her artwork on it.

The town's economy began to collapse. Without a leader to encourage investment and growth, investors turned elsewhere. Workers from nearby cities stopped coming, and our local talent pool remained untapped. Families struggled to make ends meet as jobs dried up. The weekly market, once bustling with activity, was now a barren expanse of empty stalls. Our children's laughter, once ringing through the streets, was replaced by an eerie silence.

The town's infrastructure crumbled. Potholes appeared on the roads, streetlights flickered, and the community center—once a hub of activity—fell into disrepair. We couldn't agree on who should fix these issues or how to allocate funds. Some residents took matters into their own hands, but their solutions were stopgap at best. The once-vibrant murals Hanabi had painted began to fade, victims of neglect and weather.

As months dragged on, Rainy Town became a shadow of its former self. We whispered about Hanabi's whereabouts in hushed tones, as if she might return at any moment to fix everything. But deep down, we knew she was gone forever. Our beloved "boyfriend" had left us to our own devices, and we failed her.
The nights grew darker, the streets emptier. Fires broke out as the abandoned buildings were taken over by transients. Sirens blared in the distance, their melancholic wails echoing through the empty streets. More haunting still was the day they finally stopped. We barricaded ourselves indoors, fearful of what lurked outside. Rainy Town had become a rotting husk, its soul lost with Hanabi.

One fateful evening, a group of us gathered at the town square, surrounded by the remnants of our neglect. We held candles, our faces illuminated only by the flickering light. In that moment, we finally admitted the truth: Hanabi was never coming back. Our tears mingled with the rain as we sang "Love Letter" in unison, a haunting dirge for our lost leader and friend. The wind howled through the empty spaces, carrying our sorrow to places unknown. Rainy Town would never be the same. It had been a fleeting dream, sustained by Hanabi's presence. Without her, it was a hollow shell, a sad reminder of what could have been. We mourned not just her absence but the life she brought, the laughter she shared, and the dreams she represented.

In the end, we scattered, each person fending for themselves in a world that seemed indifferent to our plight. Some left in search of better opportunities, while others remained, clinginging to memories.

The rain still falls, but it's no longer soothing. It's a constant reminder of what we lost. Our town crumbled like autumn leaves, never to be reassembled. Amemachi Hanabi, our dear mayor, was gone, and Rainy Town went with her.

The garbage company went on strike, the streets are full of trash, the clinic and fire services have been working unpaid for days, and now the electricity just went out - plumbing with it. In the council building nobody has come in to work in days. Society is fucking breaking down over here, guys. Where is our Mayor?
