This... is so good that I might have to steal it for a part of the fic. Shu's such a sweet soul that he couldn't even bring himself to hate her dad - rather, all of the turmoil would be directed toward himself and his own feelings of worthlessness. And imagine the trauma that seeps into his relationship with Elira - from flinching slightly whenever she initiates touch, to noticing how he's been acting especially spacey lately. Better yet, maybe during one unfortunate night of intimacy, Elira manages to trigger Shu's PTSD through retraumatization, triggering his fight-or-flight response, and Shu accidentally hits his first love in a rush of adrenaline...
