Out in the middle of the mojave desert, barely coasting by on the money my roommates and I made doing solar field work. It was a simpler time, even though I couldn't get fucking internet out at that hole, so I followed vtubers purely through watching on my phone while playing offline games on my PC.
As for when I started watching vtubers, I'd guess I started getting really into it early 2020 before HoloEN was even a thing. Before, I was just occasionally watching vtubers like Kizuna Ai and the likes.
