Meanwhile on the JP side, one niji clipper quit clipping and basically threw a gas canister behind him basically saying "there's nothing interesting in Nijisanji to clip anymore!".

Out of there there's maybe x clips that are MAYBE interesting for the average EOP weeb -

Who watches this stuff? It's ALWAYS gonna be from the Japanese POV so it's not gonna apply to any western (or even SEA) viewer. And weebs are generally single, so why would they want to be reminded of the fact that they don't have a girlfriend by a rando JP VTuber?
The only people watching this will be complete normies who don't understand or care about otaku culture and it's values. And for the western VTuber audience - which evolved from the western anime audience - this type of shit is just the same thing you find in streamer groups like OTK or OTV or whatever.

There's also the difference in sexual content.

Holo audience of course, still likes a bit of spice in their content but there's a balance to be had.
Choco and Mel milking on a Nintendo Switch is the borderline, Swimsuits are generally fine, but stuff like the Aventure HOLIC MV crosses that line.

But if you're not? Well.. it's just awkward. You're just sitting there watching two people make out while their avatars are just moving around.
In Holo interactions they talk to chat or to each other and generally make things a little more engaging, so it never feels like it's awkward when you click on a stream.

There's a reason why girls like Gibara and Lulu were the only ones to even have some amount of western mindshare.
I remember a time when every Lulu clip would have some clipfag commenting "that stare" or "eldritch abomination". While annoying for regulars, it still builds up casual mindshare for the chuuba.
That was the last meme I remember seeing from NijiJP side.
