Exactly. Polling in the real world is already extremely bad at drawing conclusions, and can be manipulated in various ways. People can skew polls to support their causes, or form consensus or opinion that is designed to motivate or manipulate people into supporting things they might disagree with. It's not to say there isn't a purpose to them, especially census data, and crime statistics, but even then there is human error involved. Never take things as conclusive, unless it's irrefutably happening before your eyes.
